New Life Church - then, now and into the future..

Congleton New Life Church began in 1983 when a handful of Christians came together in prayer, with a common vision to reach out to people in the town who had no church background.  From the beginning, a strong emphasis was placed on building relationships with the Lord and with each other in pursuit of this aim.

The first meetings took place in private homes, but growing numbers necessitated a move to a room above a T.V. repair workshop in the town.  Later, due to further numerical growth, Sunday morning services were relocated to premises at the National Children's Home at Danesford.

Following the closure of the children's home at the end of 1990, New Life Church took a lease on the former school building, eventually purchasing the property in 2000.  Since then, a thriving community centre has been developed, incorporating the church's pre-school and toddler group, coffee shop, bookshop, counselling room, youth room, children's facilities and administrative offices.

Although publicly identified with the Danesford Community Centre, New Life Church maintains its primary focus on people, rather than on buildings.  Church members are encouraged to work out their Christian spirituality by involving God in every aspect of their daily business.  They meet together in life groups and other smaller meetings with either spiritual or practical focus.
