The Storehouse is a free foodbank operated by New Life Church from our Danesford Community Centre for emergency or extreme hardship situations.
Why do we need to provide this service?
We recognise everyone needs a helping hand when times get tough and sharing with others is a great biblical principle to follow. We see many people struggle to adjust to the new welfare reforms, experience the loss of income through redundancy or low pay, or find themselves struggling with or are the victims of many life issues, often through no fault of their own.
How can I access the Foodbank?
Access to the service is through obtaining a Referral form (see below) from one of over 50 support organisations and agencies working in our community
e.g. Plus Dane Housing, Adullam Homes, Social Services, Mental Health Teams, Barnabus, Great Places, Aspire, Sanctuary Housing, CAB, Richmond Fellowship and many others.
When is the Storehouse open?
Referrals are processed to give food out on Monday to Friday between 10am and 3pm.
Our local Congleton Supermarkets (M&S, Tesco and Morrisons) and other local businesses all contribute in different ways toward the Food bank. We receive good (fresh) food which would ordinarily be thrown away and are able to use in food parcels. Greggs too have now allowed us to collect and we can add pies and cakes, bread and sandwiches to the food supplies. Special collections and regular donations from customers are really helpful and essential toward the day to day needs. Thanks to the businesses and their customers for their support.
